Mark J. Shaw

Mark Jens Shaw, 67 of New Park, PA passed away suddenly on November 20, 2022 while at his hunting cabin in Potter County, PA. Mark was born on July 1, 1955 in Watertown, NY to Dennis E. Shaw and Lois Broderson Shaw. He is survived by his father Dennis E. Shaw ; his sister Carol Covington ; Three step children Becky, Jared and Levi ; two nieces Rebecca (Robert) Strobel of Wimberley, TX ; Sarah (Nathan) Hoover of Dillsburg, PA ; one great nephew Nolan and five great nieces Grace, Victoria, Audrey, Ellen and Julianne. Mark was preceded in death by his wife Robin C. Wise Shaw, his mother Lois Broderson Shaw, stepson Adam R. Schreck and brother-in-law John F. Covington, Jr.. Mark graduated in 1974 from Kennard-Dale High School in Fawn Grove, PA. He was a member of Future Farmers of America and graduated from York Vo-Tech Automotive Technology program in 1978. He worked for Kyle Trout, Brown Croft Farms, over 20 years at Greer/Sammis Chevrolet and Gordon’s Body Shop in Stewartstown, PA where he retired from as a mechanic and Certified Vehicle Safety Inspector. Mark enjoyed his dogs, archery, hunting, kayaking, boating, fishing, any activities that included the outdoors and spending time with his friends and family. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Avicultural Society, Hopewell Fish & Game in Stewartstown, PA and East Fork Sportsman’s Club in Potter County, PA. I am sure there were many other hunting and fishing organizations over his years that he held membership in as he use to fish in Lake Ontario with his boat the “Y-Not!”. A Celebration of Life is being held on Saturday January 7, 2023 from 11 am - 3 pm at Hopewell Presbyterian Church 8426 Church Rd Felton, PA 17322 in the social hall. Casual dress. There will be a Private burial at Round Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery 7362 Church Rd Cross Roads, PA 17322.
