Clarence H. Shuey

Clarence H. Shuey 88 of The Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, Pa., formerly of Mechanicsburg, Pa., passed away peacefully on April 13, 2015, at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, with his family by his side, after a battle with alzheimers. Born in West Fairview on July 13, 1926, Clarence was the son of the late Christian and Ruth (Fisher). Clarence graduated from Lemoyne High School. Following high school Clarence served 2 years in the Army during World War II. Upon returning he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad. For many years he was in door to door sales for numerous companies. He retired from Washington National Insurance Co. after 17 years. During his retirement he worked for Flight Systems as a machinist. Clarence was an active member of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church; Mechanicsburg, Pa. Over his lifetime, Clarence and Jean enjoyed traveling throughout the US with their camper and snow birding in Florida. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and attending many of the grandkids' sports events. Members of his family include his wife of 67 years, Jean (Blumenstein) , whom he married February 21, 1948, a son Ronald and his wife Debra, a daughter Linda (Shuey) Taylor and her husband William, many grandchildren, great grandchildren a great great grandchild and a brother Donald Shuey. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 3 brothers and a sister. The family would like to thank all of the caregivers at the Masonic Village. SERVICES: A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. followed by the service on April 18, at the Mount Olivet United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg, Pa. with interment prayers, and burial at Rolling Green Memorial Park with military honors. Family and friends are invited to attend a luncheon follow the service.
