Laura (Logan) Gorecki

Laura Rebecca (Logan) Gorecki of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, age 63, passed away the morning of January 21, 2016, at Hershey Medical Center. Laura recently retired from Rite Aid Corporation’s Bank Card Department after more than 20 years of service. The last year of her career was spent assisting the FBI with an investigation into a ring of credit card fraud that spanned the east coast. For her invaluable part in their investigation, the FBI personally presented her with the FBI Award of Excellence. In her free time, Laura enjoyed relaxing at the beach in Stone Harbor. Laura’s life and impact on those around her cannot be put into words. She was full of love and creativity. She was an artist with a loud personality that mirrored that of her father, a locally famous artist, George B.M. Logan. George would often tell her that she possessed more talent in her little finger than he did in his whole body. Her intelligence, patience and endless capacity for love echoed the qualities of her mother, an educational activist, Virginia Ann (Shuler) Logan. Laura was a unique, eccentric and strong woman, who let nothing stop her or dim her brighter-than-the-sun spirit. Laura’s greatest love and joy in her life was to be with her family. She is survived by her siblings Donald Logan and wife Connie, Sandra Bell and husband Donald and Elizabeth Rothermel and husband Gregory; four children Jason Gidusko and wife Heather, Donald Gidusko and wife Kelly, Sandra Wallace and husband David and Jared Worley; eight grandchildren Mackenzie Gidusko, Mason Gidusko, Logan Wallace, Owen Gidusko, Claire Gidusko, Marley Gidusko, Karina Gidusko and Lilia Wallace; niece Keri Rothermel and nephew Matthew Bell. She also loved as her own, Adam Gidusko and his wife Allison and their daughter Soren. Laura was recently reunited with her first child, Michelle Balthaser and husband Mark, who was adopted by a loving family in 1967. This reunion fulfilled a lifelong search and void in her heart. It blessed her family with two more grandchildren, Ashley and Amanda Smith. Services will be held at Musselman’s Funeral Home in Lemoyne on Saturday, January 30, 2016. Visitation will begin at 10 and services at 11. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mussleman’s Funeral Home, 324 Hummel Avenue, Lemoyne, Pennsylvania 17043.
