Mary Jean Saa Saa

Mary Jean Saa Saa (Lauck), 76, of Dover, PA, formerly of New Cumberland and Harrisburg, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at Pappus House surrounded by her loving family. Born November 10, 1949, in Lemoyne, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph H, Lauck, Sr. and Mary A. (Naugle) Lauck. Jean was a humble woman of many talents. She had a deep love for cooking and was an exceptional baker, her homemade cookies and candies, especially during the holidays, were cherished gifts shared with family and friends. Jean also was a talented Bartender in her younger years, she also enjoyed tending to her garden, especially her beloved herbs and hosta’s. An avid shopper, she delighted in visiting different stores to find unique ingredients for her recipes. She loved buying her lottery tickets and was a faithful watcher of General Hospital, even in her final days we had the TV on so she wouldn’t miss it. Above all, Jean treasured her family. She was lovingly known as Mother, Mom, Gram, Jean and Gigi by her cherished children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Nanette(Nettie) M. Essick (Bryan) of Dover, PA, Michelle Pherribo of Los Angeles, CA, five grandchildren; Christopher Winters(Brandi) of Texas, Christian Essick of Dover, PA, Taylor Pierce, of Los Angeles, CA, Connor Essick of Dover, PA, Casey Essick(Luke) of Steelton, PA, and 6 great- grandchildren, Gavin, Easton, Henry, Maverick, Stetson, and another great-grandson coming in June 2026; brothers, Joe Dean Lauck (Linda), Joseph Lauck Jr., Roger Lauck (Holly); sisters, Gloria Gochenaur, Anna Sheaffer, sister-in-law Deborah Lauck; neices, Tammy who was more like an adopted daughter, Maryann, Shirley, Heather, Chelsea, Sheila, Michelle, Nicole, Tanya, Donna, Ashley, Lori, and Dawn; nephews, Joe, Robert, Brock, Justin, Ian, Ryan, and Joey; many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Charles Lauck, nephew Jared Lauck and niece Michelle Lauck. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Pappus House for all of round the clock love and care they provided and to VNA of Hanover & Spring Grove also for the care the staff provided. There will be a Celebration of Life 12:00 pm, Saturday June 13, 2026 at New Cumberland Borough Psrk, Pavillion #4, in lieu of flowers, contributions in Jean’s memory can be made to Pappus House, 66 Big Mount Rd.
