Robert "Bob" Wallace Rea Jr.

Robert (Bob) Wallace Rea, Jr. Robert Wallace Rea, Jr. of Camp Hill, PA passed peacefully at home on Sunday, February 18, 2018. Born December 21, 1920 in Washington, D.C., he was 97 years young. He graduated from John Harris High School in Harrisburg, PA, and enlisted July, 1942 as a corporal in the U.S. Army Air Corps (USAAC). He served our country in World War II, and overseas in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW Post 6704, Mechanicsburg, PA. As an Army Veteran, he worked a civilian career as a Weapons Support Analyst for the Naval Support Activity Base in Mechanicsburg, PA until retirement. After retirement, he worked part-time for E. Mathur Auto Parts, Harrisburg, PA. He embraced Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church as an active member of the congregation and performing in the Senior Choir. After the passing of his wife, his second home became the West Shore Senior Center, New Cumberland, PA where he made many dear friendships over the last two (2) decades. Preceding in death are his Father (Robert Wallace Rea, Sr.), his Mother (Anna Esther Matter Rea), his Sister (Anna Mae Rea Jerzakowski), his Wife (Helen Elizabeth Noel Rea), his Daughter (Beth Irene Rea Shiley), and Son-in-Law (Charles Edward Shiley). Surviving are his Son (Ronald Lee Rea) and Daughter-in-Law (June Murray Rea) of New Cumberland. Grandchildren include Karen Shiley Scharein (spouse Samuel Scharein) of Etters, Dana Murray Rea Anthony (fiancé Larry Lackey, Jr.) of Tower City, Kimberly Shiley of Lemoyne, Lisa Rea Minnick of New Cumberland, Kenneth Shiley (spouse Courtney Shiley) of North Carolina, and Alan Rea (spouse Crystal Rea) of New Cumberland. Great Grandchildren include Kristianna Scharein, Kaden Scharein, Kolsen Scharein, Miranda Shiley, Angelica Shiley, Madison Shiley, Alicia Anthony, Taylor Anthony, Collin Anthony, Alexus Rea, Zachary Minnick, Sage Rea, Skyler Rea, and A.J. Rea. Close members of the family include Wayne Anthony of Hershey, Barbara Miles of North Carolina, Barb Dennelein of Mechanicsburg, and especially his caretakers who have become family over the last year. A public viewing will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 9:00 AM at Musselman’s Funeral Home, 324 Hummel Avenue, Lemoyne, PA 17043 with funeral services beginning at 10:00 AM. Public graveside Military Salute will be 11:00 am at Rolling Green Cemetery, 1811 Carlisle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
