Albert D. Stewart, 94, a resident of the Woods at Cedar Run, Camp Hill and formerly of New Cumberland died February 8, 2017 at Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residents. He was born on August 13, 1922 in Roxbury, Pa. to the late Herbert D. and Catherine Stewart. Mr. Stewart was a veteran of the U.S. Army’s 873rd Aviation Engineer Bn. during WWII serving three years in the Pacific Theatre. He was the owner/operator of Stewart Atlantic Service Station in Lemoyne. He retired from Cumberland County as Deputy Controller. He was a member of the VFW Post in New Cumberland and Navy Club Commission Officers Mess in Mechanicsburg. He served his church as an usher and council member. Albert was the widower of Madeline I. Stewart who died in 2013 after 67 years of marriage. He is survived by two sons John A. and wife Barbara of New Cumberland, James D. and wife Ann of Weston, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kimberly, Jennifer, Michael, Jason, Kristen and great grandchildren, Madilyn and Ava. He is also survived by an Angel, Martha Mueller. Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at his church. A one hour visitation will be held in the Church Library starting at 9:30 AM with a service to follow officiated by his pastor, The Reverend David J. Schreffler. Burial will be at Rolling Green Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorial contributions may be made to his church, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran, 509 Hummel Ave., Lemoyne, Pa. 17043.
