She was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Camp Hill, where she was a proud member of the Chancel Choir for 41 years. You could also find her at Trinity Monday mornings as a money counter. Arlene enjoyed volunteering her time with many charities including working with the blind, disabled and even had her dog certified as a comfort dog. She had a great love of nature she was always happy to have guests visit her at the “Log cabin in the woods” that she designed. She participated in the Audubon bird count, she would proudly tell you that she was the last one to actually mail in her results as they went electronic, and everyone knows Arlene enjoyed the simple things in life and did not need cable television or a computer. Arlene was a voracious reader of books, ready to tell you that she read 20 books the previous year, she also enjoyed her crossword, wordsearch and more recently sudoku puzzles. She had a great sense of humor, when you met her around church or town you were always prepared to hear a new joke, riddle, or tongue twister she learned, the most famous of which was the “Betty butter” which she could still say faster than anyone. She is now reunited with her Lord and Savior, as well as Charlie Brown, Girl, Taffy, Molly, and Jetta where they are all walking, running, and chasing those tennis balls. Services will be Tuesday, May 31st at Musselman Funeral Home at 11:00AM, with a visitation at 10:00AM, burial will be private in Shamokin at the convenance of the family. In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution to her church Trinity Lutheran Camp Hill or your local Human Society.
