Blaine S. Pennington, of Enola, passed away on January 3, 2017 at the age of 85. Blaine was born in Lewistown, PA on September 25, 1931 to John and Anna Pennington. He served two tours in the United States Navy. During his second tour, he met the love of his life, Lucienne, whom he married in Nice, France. After his stints in the Navy, he worked nearly 30 years as a railroader in Enola Freight Yards. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, snorkeling, and long walks. He was a devoted family man who will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Pennington, and his brothers, Gene, Frank, John, and Paul Pennington and his sister, Pearl Rose. He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 55 years, Lucienne, his son, John Pennington of Enola, his daughter, Theresa Ritchie and husband, Philip of Mechanicsburg, his sister, Edna Gable of Miriam, GA, his beloved grandchildren, Danielle and Marissa and numerous nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Enola. Burial will immediately follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
