Doris A St Jacques, 87, of Lemoyne PA, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side, a clear path to our Lord in her heart, and with her soul in hand. Doris lived her life to the fullest. A vivacious, outgoing person, she traveled the world, devoted her life to family and friends, and was a singer, painter, tap dancer and mother. Doris was born in Lebanon, PA and moved to Lemoyne with her family as a young child. She was a 1946 graduate of Lemoyne High School, moved to Philadelphia when she married, and then moved around the world with her husband and children throughout her 20’s and 30’s, living in England and taking trips to Spain, Germany, Austria, the Bahamas, Venezuela, Haiti, St. Croix, St Thomas and other places of interest. She was extremely active in the Lemoyne Civic Club, the Grace United Methodist Church, and sang in the choir for many years. With the choir, she traveled to sing in places like Austria. She also traveled with her devoted friend Harold in her later life to France, Ireland and Germany and across the US, often in the big old convertible singing at the tops of their lungs. She loved all animals, especially her dachshund Maxie and her cat, Molly. She loved spending summers at the Jersey Shore throughout her whole life, and dabbling in her flower garden. In her early career, she worked for Chilton Publishing Company, Bell Telephone, the Harrisburg Barber School, and later the PA House of Representatives. Primarily a homemaker, she raised three beautiful daughters, Suzanne Laughman of Mechanicsburg, Priscilla St Jacques- Glusko of Harrisburg, and Lynn Siciliano (spouse Mario) of Las Vegas along with grandchildren Alexis, Justin, Jeaneatte and Anthony. She is survived by both brothers, Skip Zoll (spouse Lee), and Dale Zoll, and many nieces and nephews. A mother, grandmother, and most of all a devoted and dear friend to all those she came across, Doris touched the life of everyone she met. She recently lived at the Woods of Cedar Run, where she was known early on as the “movie” lady, and shared her passion for old movies and singing with other residents. She was a delight to all who met and knew her – caring, sweet, and loving. A Celebration of Doris's life will be held at 1 pm on July 14 at Grace United Methodist Church in Lemoyne. Please wear PINK to honor our mom. In addition, or in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the upcoming Alzheimer’s Walk in Harrisburg in September- http://act.alz.org/goto/DorisTeam or to the Humane Society of Central Pa.
