James H.E. Imler, 82, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020 at the Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital. Jim Graduated from Mechanicsburg High School, earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Shippensburg University and his Master’s Degree at Bowling Green University. Jim started his teaching career at Cumberland Valley High School and then the Camp Hill School District. After completing doctoral level research at the Hershey Medical Center, he taught Dauphin County Technical School for many years and then became supervisor of adult education until his retirement. Presently he was working for the PA state WEDNET as liaison for training invoicing for all PA college and universities partner. Jim had many outside interests including Boy Scouts, working at H&R Block, coaching Camp Hill High School Majorettes, The Civic Club of Harrisburg’s Affiliates chairman and especially the Coast Guard Auxiliary Division 19, 5th Northern Region. He was very proud to receive the Certificate of Appreciation for Flotilla Commander of the year 2014 and the auxiliary division commander award in 2015. Jim was predeceased by his parents Edna and Irvin Imler and his brother Robert Cromer Imler. Surviving Jim are his wife Judy, his son William Thomas Imler and his wife Faith, his daughter Stacey Imler O’Donoghue and husband Vince, step-grandson Christopher L. Spencer, and the lights of his life granddaughters Kiley and Caitlin O’Donoghue. Services and burial will be private. A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date.
