John H. Bowers Jr.

November 30, 1951 - October 19, 2021

John H. Bowers Jr., of Marysville, peacefully passed away on October 19th, 2021. John was preceded in death by his father John H. Bowers, Sr.; mother Marie E. Bowers, both of West Fairview; his son Shawn M. Bowers of Duncannon, and many other friends and family. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Roseanna M. Bowers, daughter, Jennifer Bowers (son Shawn) of Marysville; daughter-in-law Yvonne Brown (daugthers Calissa and Caitlyn; sons Connor and Colton; husband Cliff) of Duncannon; his best friends and brothers, Bill Doyle of Newville, George Jones (wife Jen) of Enola, Lump Jones (wife Julie) of Marysville; and many other friends and relatives. John was born and raised in West Fairview. He served in the United States Air Force, stationed at Cannon AF Base in Clovis, New Mexico during the Vietnam War. John retired from Naval Support Activity Mechanicsburg where he worked for Defense Logistics Agency for 21 years as a Production Machinery Mechanic and Woodworker (DoD IPE DSCR, RICHMOND VA). He was an avid outdoorsman spending much of his younger years hunting small and big game, and fishing. John enjoyed working with his hands and built many things including his daughters headboard, a toybox for a great-niece, and the walls of his home he loved in with his family. Music was also an important part of John's life. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing in his bands The Electric Heat and The Fairview Five and even more so just sitting on his couch singing with his wife and daughter and teaching his grandson to play the guitar. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help with funeral expenses.
