Kenneth A. Wise

June 9, 1947 - October 8, 2021

Kenneth A Wise of Mechanicsburg, PA, died at home on Friday, October 8, 2021 at the age of 74. Ken was born on June 9, 1947 in Pittsburgh, PA to William W and Donnie G Dailey Wise. He was a graduate of Marple Newtown High School in Newtown Square, PA in 1965. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 1969 from the University of Pittsburgh, and received his Juris Doctor degree in 1972 from Dickinson Law School. He worked as Legal Aid at his first job. Later on, he practiced law as a public defender in the Harrisburg and Lewistown areas. He was married to the late Judith Ann Raubenstraw Wise (m.1972) and they raised their late daughter, Jean Faye Wise (b.1986). Ken was married to Jo Casey Wise on December 1, 2010. Ken was an active member of the West Shore Baptist Church for over 45 years. He was a member of Dauphin County Bar Association. Ken developed a love of model trains that were much admired by friends and family. He was also an avid runner, played trumpet in the high school band, was in the debating team in high school, and enjoyed travelling south to visit his relatives. He was known for his quick wit, his love of jokes, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Ken was a Life Member of Sertoma for over 30 years. He was a charter member of the Capital Area Sertoma club when he helped to form Carlisle Area club in May 1998. He was a Past District Governor, Past International Director and Past President of the Capital Area Sertoma. He worked on Camp Sertoma doing clean-up, repairs. He started and budgeted to a successful fundraiser of the Haunted Train Ride Night on Harrisburg City Island. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, William (1993) and Donnie (2000) Wise, mother-in-law Christine T Le (2020), first wife Judith Ann (2003), and daughter Jean Faye (2008). He is survived by his second wife Jo Casey Wise, sister Ann Irwin (Phil), brother Bill Wise (Mary), father-in-law David Ton, sister-in-law Trang Tran, and nieces and nephews: Janet, Nancy, Patty, Steve, Judy, Linda, William, Melissa, Angela, Kevin, Matthew and the pooch, TJ. A memorial service will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Vietnamese Alliance Church of Harrisburg, 333 S Enola Drive, Enola, PA 17025, with the Rev. Janice Stone Bourne officiating. Musselman Funeral Home of Lemoyne is in charge of the arrangement and cremation. Donations may be sent to Vietnamese Alliance Church of Harrisburg, 333 S Enola Drive, Enola, PA 17025.
