Margret Louisa (Perry) Greene, 85, of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, passed peacefully on May 1, 2021 with her family by her side. She was born to David R. Perry and Margaret Louise (Hoover) Perry on June 18, 1935 in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Known as Peggy, she went to Camp Hill High School (class of '53) and attended Middlebury College and the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated with a degree in occupational therapy and was a sister in the TriDelt sorority. Peggy will be remembered as a great friend and for her creativity and engaging curiosity as well as her involvement in countless organizations: the Penn-Cumberland Garden Club, Camp Hill Woman’s Club, the P.E.O., and the League of Women Voters as well as a docent at the Harrisburg Governor’s Residence and a docent/enactor at the Frankenberger Tavern along with being a life member of the Historical Society of Camp Hill and the Mechanicsburg Museum Association. She was the election coordinator for Camp Hill Precinct 2, and organized and managed the concession operations for youth athletic leagues while living in Germany. Peggy was a skilled artist and painter who made popular jewelry, and was always ready to help organize and assist those who asked and causes she supported. Peggy is preceded in death by her husband James F. Greene Jr. and her parents. She is survived by her sister “Dede” Marsh and her son David, daughter Margaret (Greene) Brown, son-in-law Don and one grandchild Margaret Ashley Getchell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania or Norfolk Botanical Garden.
