Roy S. Ney, Jr.

March 3, 1958 - March 23, 2016

Roy S. Ney, Jr., 58, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Holy Spirit Hospital. Born in Harrisburg on March 3, 1958, and raised in Steelton, he was the son of the late Nancy I. (Libby) and Roy S. Ney, Sr. Roy graduated from Steelton Highspire High School and later earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Millersville University. He recently retired from IBM as a Senior IT Specialist with over 30 years of service. Roy was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill, where he was involved in the Prison Ministry. His love of nature often led him to his family cabin on the banks of Penns Creek, where he enjoyed fly fishing and the peace and serenity of God's beauty. He enjoyed organic gardening and taking care of his brood of chickens. However, his greatest joy came from his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Roger D. Ney. Roy is survived by his wife, Ellen (Rusinko), who was his best friend and soulmate; daughter, Brittany L. Yerger and husband, Joel, of Mechanicsburg; brother, Michael J. Ney, and wife, Christine, of Westtown; sister-in-law, Marilyn Kusiak, and husband, James; brother-in-law, Thomas M. Rusinko; nephews Erik, Jeffrey, Jeremy, Zachary, Timothy, and Matthew Ney, and Seth T. Rusinko; grandson, Silas, and granddaughter, Rowan Yeager, and a third grandchild on the way; and many close cousins and friends. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 2, 2016 in Fellowship Hall at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, with praise and worship music beginning at 10:15 AM. Visitation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011 or National Pancreas Foundation, Central PA Chapter, pancreasfoundation.org. Musselman Funeral Home Is Honored To Serve The Ney Family.
