Sarah E. (Critchley) Bowen, 97, formerly of Lemoyne, PA, lived an amazing life until the Lord called her home on Friday evening, April 15, 2022, at Country Meadows, Mechanicsburg, where she resided for over 15 years. Born March 14, 1925, in Lemoyne, PA, she was a daughter of the late Luther F. and Laura M. (Wrightstone) Critchley. A 1942 graduate of the former Lemoyne High School, she was employed by the Ralston Purina Company, Camp Hill, where she retired after 29 years to do some traveling with her husband, Bill, in their camper. Sarah was a lifelong member of Calvary U.M. Church, Lemoyne, beginning at 10 days old and attending until the church closed in June 2020, probably the longest attending member. She touched the lives of many youths who attended Calvary, serving as Youth Advisor for over 25 years; served on numerous committees, and was an active member of the JOY Class and Circle Meetings. She was an avid reader and sports fan; loved to cook, bake, sew, do word puzzles, and play cards. Summers would not be complete without a family vacation to Rehoboth Beach, DE. She is survived by her daughter, Marsha (Larry) Shoop of Mechanicsburg, granddaughter Brenda Buckwalter (Dave) of Etters, grandson Gregory Shoop of Mechanicsburg, great grandson Brady Buckwalter, daughter in law Elizabeth Acri Bowen, formerly of Enola, now The Villages, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William H. Bowen, son Larry T. Bowen, brothers Luther and Henry Critchley, and sister Catherine (Neff). A memorial service will be held at 11AM Friday, May 13, 2022, at Musselman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 324 Hummel Avenue, Lemoyne, PA, with Dr. Lewis A. Parks officiating. Visitation will be from 10AM until time of service for both Sarah and her son Larry, who passed away on March 21, 2022. Burial for Sarah will follow the service at Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lifesong Hospice, 3880 TecPort Drive, Suite 2, Harrisburg, PA 17111, the American Heart Association, 4250 Crums Mill Road, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17112, or Susan G.
