December 22, 1992 - October 1, 2017
Zachary “Zach” Alan Myers, 24, of New Cumberland, passed away on October 1, 2017 from the disease of addiction. Please do not let him losing his battle with this disease define him. Many only knew Zach through the lens of the addiction. That was not the real Zach and those fortunate enough to truly know him recognized that there was more to him than just that. He is survived by his daughter, Oakley Anne Myers, his mother and step-father, Shanna and Joseph Lauck of Carlisle, and his father Troy Myers, his sister Madison Myers and fiancé Roudly Lolo of Camp Hill. He is also survived by his grandmother, Glenda Houser, cousins Sarah and Corey Junkins and Hannah Keefer all of New Cumberland. Great grandparents, Paul and Doris Bowen of New Cumberland, his uncle and aunt David and Joann and cousin Christopher Bowen all of Etters, and cousins Meghan and Matt Sheraw of New Cumberland and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Harry E. Houser, Jr., his aunt Kim “Kimmy” Houser-Keefer, grandfather, Stephen Gaumer and grandparents Dean and Deb Myers. Growing up he was just like any other young man, he was active in sports playing baseball and football as a child and playing on the Cedar Cliff High School football and wrestling teams. Zach was also a proud member of the Cedar Cliff High School JROTC program. He was known as the class clown, always the life of the party and always had to have the last word. With his charismatic and sparking personality he easily made friends. He was a huge Penn State and Eagles Fan, who loved to fish, hunt and being outdoors. Zach also loved Volkswagens, brewery memorabilia, tattoos and his beautiful daughter Oakley! You may ask why we are sharing this personal part of Zach’s life through social media. By doing so hopefully we can shed some light on this devastating and overwhelming epidemic in our community. In life, one bad decision can make a huge impact on not just you, but also those who love and care for you. If you have any loved ones who are fighting with addiction, Zach’s family ask that you do everything possible to be as supportive as possible and guide them to the resources that are available before it is too late. In honoring Zach’s wishes a Celebration of Life will be held on October 8, 2017 from 1 pm to 4 pm at the American Legion Post #143, 214 Market Street, New Cumberland, PA. At Zach’s request, at his Celebration, everyone is asked to wear camo. Memorial donations may be made to the address below, to be placed in a trust fund for Zach’s daughter, Oakley Anne Myers c/o Members First Bank, 325 S. 10th Street, Lemoyne, PA 17043. Musselman Funeral Home Is Honored To Serve The Myers Family.
