Bonnie K. Hohman

Bonnie Kathleen (Schoppert) Hohman, 79, passed away peacefully after an extended illness at Brookdale Grandon Farms, Mechanicsburg on February 12, 2026. Born to the late John C. and Vivian M. (Anderson) Schoppert, Bonnie grew up in the Lemoyne and Enola area and graduated from East Pennsboro High School in 1965. After graduation, life led her to Japan, where she spent several years living in Tokyo. Upon returning home to Central Pa., Bonnie built a career in the insurance industry, and eventually retired from Dailey Harvey Eye Associates, where she served in medical records. In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, M. Dennis Hohman who passed in 2019. Together Bonnie and Dennis shared a love of travel, Penn State football, warm climates, hiking, and family. Their life adventures took them to all 50 states, including their 49th, Hawaii, where they were married in 1997. Bonnie treasured her temperate winters in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where she enjoyed an active social life and hiked regularly with close friends. A passionate cook and baker, she was always searching for the perfect recipe to share at family gatherings which she enjoyed hosting. She also loved reading, card games, Elvis Presley songs, and watching The Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars. Bonnie is survived by her devoted nieces, Tammy (Stephen) Shapard and Kellie (Shawn) Smith, who lovingly supported her through her years at Brookdale Grandon Farms. She is also survived by her stepdaughters, Teresa (Hohman) Stoner and husband Colin, and Angie Hohman and husband Paul Eads. In addition, Bonnie is survived by her sister Linda M. Wisbith of Loveland, Ohio, along with many cherished nieces and nephews. In 1996, Bonnie gained one of her greatest joys, the title of “Nana”, with the birth of her granddaughter Olivia Katherine (Grayson Ezzell), soon followed by a second granddaughter Cecilia Adeline and finally, grandson Joshua William. She adored her grandchildren and delighted in taking them on adventures, spoiling them, baking their favorite treats and sharing their stories with everyone she met. Bonnie was preceded in death by brothers, Ronald E. and Larry M. Schoppert, and sister, Tanya L. Kautz. Faith was central to Bonnie’s life. She found great comfort in knowing she would one day be reunited with her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Lakeview Community Church in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and Christ Community Church in Lower Allen Township, where she attended faithfully until her health declined. Bonnie’s family extends heartfelt gratitude to her caregiver “family” at Brookdale Grandon Farms, Susan Glenny, CRNP, and Pinnacle Hospice for their exceptional care, compassion, and dedication to Bonnie’s comfort and well-being throughout her final journey. Final internment will be at the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill, Pa. at the convenience of the family. In remembrance of Bonnie, the family encourages everyone to cherish the moments that matter most: hold your loved ones close, share kind words often, and never take time together for granted. May her memory serve as a gentle reminder of the importance of family, friendship, and the simple, meaningful connections that enrich our lives.
