Jeffrey P. Weaver

“He loved God, he loved his family, he loved his church, and he loved to sing.” Jeffrey Paul Weaver of Mechanicsburg passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Jeff was born to Beatrice (Keller) and J. Fred Weaver on May 10, 1945, in Harrisburg Hospital. The family moved to Needham, MA in 1952 where Jeff graduated from Needham High School in 1963. He then graduated from Lafayette College in 1967 with a degree in Civil Engineering and was a member of the Kappa Delta Rho Fraternity. Jeff started working for PennDOT following graduation where he spent his entire career working as a Civil Engineer, retiring in 2005 as the District 8 Assistant District Engineer for Design. Jeff met his loving wife, Bert, in 1966, and they were later married on April 20, 1968. Jeff is survived by his wife, Bert, his three children, Amy Czyzyk (George DeMartyn), Jim Weaver (Becky), and Dave Weaver (Nikki), his six grandchildren (Corey, Sam, Louden, Ellie, Lily, and Lexy), and his three siblings (Barbara Cone, Jane Lawrence, and Michael Weaver). Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, his father, and his infant daughter Laura. Jeff loved his wife, Bert, dearly and was the happiest when they were spending time together. His primary concern throughout life was always his beloved wife’s well-being. Jeff embraced his role as a loving and involved father. He happily helped with everything from being the assistant coach for youth sports to being the late-night chauffeur for teen social gatherings. This involvement did not stop with his own children, and he absolutely loved his new role later in life as Pop-Pop. He was a vocal supporter and regular attendee of all of his grandchildren’s activities and loved the quieter moments as well of reading, playing, building, and cuddling even more. In addition to time spent with his immediate family, Jeff also greatly cherished extended family gatherings and embraced the constant challenge of trying to fit everyone around the table. Jeff loved God and always strove to live life as His faithful servant. Jeff was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Camp Hill, PA since 1969. He loved worship in every aspect. Some of his favorite activities were singing in the choir, being the webmaster for 15 years, and playing guitar and singing with the Sunday School children. For the last eight years, Jeff also greatly enjoyed the fellowship of the Trinity on the Run Walking Group, with whom he and Bert walked most Saturday mornings. Jeff will be greatly missed by his loving family, friends, and church community. Jeff was a true blessing to all those who knew him.
