Why Choose Musselmans? – No Ordinary Funeral Home

We have the warmth and compassion to understand that the loss of a loved one is not an everyday occurrence and we want you and your family to find comfort while you make informed decisions about creating the best experience in commemorating and memorializing the life of your loved one.

We have a specially designed environment for those who seldom use the services of funeral care. Our user friendly displays convey all the information you and your family need to understand, compare and select products and services with ease and confidence. Our concern will not end at the funeral or memorial service.

Our History

Our History

In 1895, Christian M. Musselman founded the C. M. Musselman Funeral Home at its present location in Lemoyne, to offer full services to West Shore and Harrisburg residents. Back then it was quite common to couple furniture stores with funeral parlors. So following this tradition of combined endeavors, Christian and his wife Marcella chose Hummel Avenue as their location.

Landis joined his parents to make the second generation to enter the field and the firm became known as C.M. Musselman & Son Funeral Home.

Landis and Ruth’s sons David L. and Donald C. returned from the war and followed the family tradition. They continued in partnership as

Musselman Funeral Home until David’s death in 1982.

In 1936 the furniture store was discontinued and Musselman’s became strictly a funeral home. In 1943, Landis died in an auto accident and his widow Ruth managed the funeral home until the end of WW II.

Donald’s two sons, Brian C. and Dane C. joined their father bringing Musselman Funeral Home, Inc. into its fourth generation. Donald died in 1997 and Brian purchased his brother’s interest in the firm the same year.

Brian C. Musselman still remains the Supervisor of the family firm.
